First We Take Brooklyn, by Danny A. Abeckaser and Starring Harvey Keitel, AnnaLynne McCord, Charlotte McKinney and Abeckaser, Premieres in New York City on February 7
First We Take Brooklyn’s world premiere was held on February 7 at the Regal Battery Park Theater, hosted by 2B Films’ Danny A Abeckaser and presented by Hooch Black. The film is Abeckaser’s directorial debut, and was co-written by Abeckaser and Jon Carlo.
Serving a life sentence in one of Israel’s toughest prisons, Mikki Levy (Abeckaser) never thought he’d ever see the light of day, but when he’s released early on a technicality, Mikki moves to New York hoping for a fresh start. Living with his uncle in Brooklyn, the harsh reality of life as an ex-con sets in and he gets dragged into a brutal turf war with the Russian mob forcing him to revisit his dark past and the survival skills he learned in prison. Mikki aggressively ascends the ranks of the underworld, but his tenacious drive may be the cause of his demise. The film stars Abeckaser, Harvey Keitel, AnnaLynne McCord, Charlotte McKinney, Kathrine Narducci and Edoardo Ballerini.
Notable guests in attendance included Danny A. Abeckaser (Director, Writer, Actor), Scott Eastwood, AnnaLynne McCord, Charlotte McKinney, Kyle Stefanski (Founder of Rhonda’s Kiss), Ari Barkan, Stevie Guttman, Edoardo Ballerini, Kathrine Narducci (The Iceman/Sopranos), Sasha Feldman (Get Shorty), John Middleton (Film Producer), King Mean, Danielle Staub (Real Housewives of New Jersey) with daughter, IMG model Christine Staub, Jonathan Cheban (Keeping Up With The Kardashians, aka FOOD GOD), Derek Warburton (Style Expert), Lyda Beauty founder Lida Fischer and model Kristin Olenik. Also in attendance was Jack Ryan, the notable basketball prodigy and legendary, Brooklyn -bred streetball player who will be collaborating with Abeckaser on an upcoming project.
The evening began in the downtown Battery Park district and moved uptown to TAO Group’s Marquee for a private after-party.
First We Take Brooklyn will have its national theatrical release in select theatres on February 9 and will open in Miami and Los Angeles on February 16th. Sony’s home box office division 4Digital has confirmed a VOD and DVD release for late May 2018.
Music artist Jacquain Crawford p/k/a King Mean wrote and performed the original soundtrack featured in the movie, titled “First We Take Brooklyn,” produced By Saint Believe.
